Trust approver role - Adding a data transfer approver (DTA) to your trust roles

Important pre-requisites for setting up a DTA role:

  1. The person assigning the DTA role must have a ‘Trust approver’ role on DfE Sign-in.
  2. The user who you are approving the DTA role for must first be setup within DfE Sign In and connected to the correct trust and Accounts Return ‘service’ as an ‘Accounts Return Trust Approver’ or an ‘Accounts Return Trust Preparer’.

  2. 1. Sign into DfE sign in -

  1. 2. Go into the ‘services’ section

  1. 3. Click into the ‘view and edit services on my account’

  1. 4. Choose your own trust from the list and continue

  1. 5. You can then choose the roles for this service.  

Note - You can only be the approver or preparer, not both.

 

Note: The trust approver role on DfE Sign-in must assign or approve all requests for the data transfer approver role

  1. 6. Advance to the next screen and submit the request.
