The four steps to using automation

The trust must adopt the academies CoA:
- Via native adoption OR
- Mapping via FMS suppliers' software
2. Upgrade FMS to use automation
- The trust’s FMS software supplier must have developed their functionality to use automation AND
- The trust’s FMS software must be upgraded to use automation
3. Allocate a Data Transfer Approver (DTA) on DfE Sign In
- The trust must set up a DTA role on DfE Sign in to send the data
4. Discuss with your auditor
- If your trust uses an auditor to prepare your AR, check they're happy using automated data
- Inform your approving auditor that you completed your AR using automation
To note: You need a full years worth of data in order to be able to automate. If you adopted in 2023/24, you will be able to automate in 2025/26.
